The OC is a story of the prestigous, wealthy area of California called Orange County. The OC tells the story of wealthy families, and the tribulations they face in attempts to fit in with others and not appear out of place.
The story, however, is more than that. It is the story of Ryan Atwood, a boy uprooted from Chino, and thrust into this wealthy setting. Throughout the season viewers have watched as Ryan makes this awkward transition into his new culture.
